Each month, S4G members learn about a critical community need and take action to address the issue with small donations that collectively make a big difference to our local nonprofit partners.

August: Fight Veteran Homelessness with Operation Renewed Hope Foundation
Help Veterans Live Safely and Comfortably in Their Communities
About Our August Nonprofit Partner:
Operation Renewed Hope Foundation provides a range of services assisting veterans and breaking their cycle of homelessness or preventing veterans from becoming homeless. Learn more.
August Goal:
Provide 100 $25 grocery and gas gift cards for caseworkers to give to clients.
Through our hands-on service activity, provide helpful yard work for three separate homes owned by ORHF for use by veterans with their families.
Help fund ORHF’s “Purple Fund” with reoccurring Grapevine donations. The purple fund is used to cover expenses, not covered by VA grants.
How You Can Participate
Make a Financial Contribution via Grapevine. Youe contribution will allow the August project team to purchase grocery and gas gift cards through Raise Right. All gift card earnings will also be donated to ORHF.
Attend the Hands-On Yard Work Volunteer Project and Social on Saturday, August 23rd from 8:30 am-12:00 pm at an Alexandria ORHF home.
Thank you members with recurring Grapevine donations! Your donations will be used by ORHF to add to their Purple Fund, which is used to provide for expenses, not covered by VA grants. Examples include helping a vet to get to work when their car has broken down, providing basic necessities when a vet moves into a new home, etc.
