Launched in August 2019, Social4Good (S4G) educates, engages, and empowers women to make a difference in Northern Virginia. Each month, S4G provides opportunities to learn about critical needs while identifying clear, actionable ways to support those needs with small donations that collectively make a big difference to our local nonprofit partners.
THE SOCIAL AND GOOD
Each month, S4G forms a team to work with local nonprofits to identify and fulfill their critical need, as well as to plan an opportunity for members to engage with each other as they learn more about the nonprofit's mission and our impact.
From creating Welcome Bags for children entering a homeless shelter with something new to call their own, to purchasing cleaning products, making fleece blankets, and creating baskets for formerly incarcerated women or Veterans to take to their new homes, every month offers members ways to pool their funds to make an impact. Most months, members are asked to sponsor purchases in increments of $25 - a small amount with big results.
Since August 2019, S4G has supported 40 Northern Virginia Nonprofits with in-kind and financial support totalling almost $210,000. Our work has been recognized by Leadership Fairfax and Vienna Mayor's Volunteer Award. Our founder, Faith Boettger, was recognized by Nonprofit HR as a 2022 Outstanding Social Impact Woman to Watch.
40 nonprofit partners, almost $210,000 in in-kind and financial donations, impactful projects that address client needs, and deeper connections to the community.
In December, S4G Works With LINK, Inc. to Bring Holiday Cheer to Babies & Teens!
LINK, Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that provides emergency food and financial assistance to qualified people in need in Herndon, Sterling & Ashburn. During the holidays, LINK hosts a special program to support their families with food for 3 - 5 days and, when available, coats and toys. Giving these families hope during the holiday season motivates LINK to continue to be their cheerleader and provide some of their basic needs so that they can focus on their families.
Social4Good’s December Project - Deadline to Support December 10th
Social4Good (S4G) will support Link’s Holiday Program with a goal to provide toys and books for newborn-2 year olds and gift cards for teens to choose their own special something. You can help us reach our goals by donating through:
Amazon Wish List Created With Toys for Children Ages Newborn-2. Purchases on the Amazon wish list are sure to make a child’s holiday brighter. Please have your gifts sent to Mary Stahl’s gift registry address and order by December 10th so they arrive in time for the Holiday Store. CLICK HERE to access the wish list.
Gift Cards for Teens. To support S4G's December project with LINK, click here to access S4G’s financial campaign on Grapevine where 100% of your donation will be used in support of LINK to purchase Walmart gift cards. Any funds collected after the Holiday Store concludes will be used by LINK to provide groceries for families in need. Deadline to donate December 12th.
